James Allen RUA
James Allen was born in Lurgan, County Armagh and was educated at the Belfast College of Art from 1961 – 1965 and then went on to further his studies at the Brighton College of Art from 1965 – 1967. Allen is well known for his print making but he was also a well-established painter.
From 1977 – 1980, James worked in Residence at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland as a printmaker and then became a manager of Belfast print workshop from 1980.
Today, we can see Allen’s work in a number of museums, such as the Arts Council of Great Britain, Queen’s University of Belfast and the Telfair Museum of Georgia, USA.
