Arthur Armstrong RHA

In 1962, Armstrong moved to Dublin, sharing a house with Dillon in Ranelagh, and started exhibiting at the Royal Hibernian Academy. In 1969 he designed stage sets, alongside George Campbell and Gerard Dillon, for the Seán O'Casey play, Juno and the Paycock, at the Abbey Theatre. In 1972, Armstrong became a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy. In 1981, he became a member of Aosdána, while a retrospective exhibition of his work from 1950 to 1980 was held by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
