Anna Cheyne worked with a variety of mediums including batik, ceramics, papier mâché, stone, fibreglass and bronze. Cheyne was born and educated in England but moved to Northern Ireland in 1954 after her marriage to architect, Donald Cheyne. She studied at Kingston School of Art where she gained a National Diploma in Design in Painting and Sculpture. She continued her studies at the Slade School of Fine Art. From the mid-1970s, she exhibited extensively in Ireland and England, including the RUA and Oireachtas.
In 1984, a solo exhibition of her work was held at the Peacock Gallery, Craigavon, later exhibitions include the Rooksmoor Gallery, Bath, and Cavehill Gallery, Belfast. She was a member of the Society of Sculptors and Association of Artists of Ireland.
